Overview
The project is designed to raise aspirations and employability skills for parentsand families in Salford who, for a variety of reasons, are seeking work and training opportunities for the first time or are returning to employment after a break.
Funded by Salford City Council, the project delivers workshops underpinned by one-to-one support. The Project Co-ordinator is able to offer advice and guidance, life coaching, debt and finance support, benefit advice, CV writing and employability skills. Participants may typically have low confidence and a lack of formal qualifications or might be parents with child care needs.
Many of the participants would not have the confidence to join a college course or a large class of students and the project provides support in a less formal atmosphere, encouraging participants to engage with more confidence with tutors and other agencies.
