Settling in – an update from our new CEO

I joined the organisation as CEO on 29 April, having spent some time beforehand getting to know the team and our work through my induction. Over the past few weeks, I’ve been meeting staff, partners, clients and service users across a range of projects and services.

These early conversations and visits have made a strong impression. Across the organisation, there is a clear sense of commitment to supporting communities and making a difference in people’s lives. Whether in formal partnership meetings or day-to-day discussions, it’s evident that this work is underpinned by both experience and a genuine dedication to those we support.

One consistent message I’ve heard is the high regard in which the organisation is held. There is real respect for the impact of the work being delivered and for the strength of the relationships that have been built over time. While I am still in the early stages of learning about the full breadth of activity across our projects, it is clear that there is a strong foundation to build on, supported by a committed and capable team.

It has been a very positive start, and I am proud to be part of the organisation at such an important time. I look forward to continuing to work with you all as we build on the progress already made and continue tackling disadvantage, changing lives.

Thank you all for such a warm welcome,

Mel
