Energy Advice Project
Each year, thanks to funding by Salford City Council, we support 100s of people on low incomes who are experiencing fuel poverty and need advice and support on how to manage their energy bills and reduce energy consumption.
Emergency/Crisis Support
If you have self-disconnected and have no gas or electricity, please contact Salford Assist in the first instance. You can make an online application (salford.gov.uk) or contact Spirit of Salford on 0800 952 1000 to make a telephone application.
You will be asked for proof of your income and expenditure before they can award an energy voucher.
You also have the option of contacting your energy supplier and requesting an emergency top up if you have a smart meter. It is possible to get an additional emergency top up if your supplier agrees that you are a vulnerable customer.
General Energy Support and Advice
Salford Assist will then make a referral to our Energy Adviser for general support and advice. Our Energy Adviser can then help you to make affordable repayment arrangements with your energy provider, apply for an energy grant, switch suppliers and offer advice about energy efficiency in your home.
