Unfortunately, due to the current Cost of Living crisis our service is in high demand so it will take longer than usual to reply to your enquiry. Please consider the following advice before requesting an appointment with our Energy Adviser.
Emergency/Crisis
If you have self-disconnected and have no gas/electricity, please contact Salford Assist in the first instance. You can make an online application (salford.gov.uk) or contact Spirit of Salford on 0800 952 1000 to make a telephone application. You will be asked for proof of your income and expenditure before they can award an energy voucher.
You also have the option of contacting your supplier and requesting an emergency top up if you have a smart meter. It is possible to get an additional emergency top up if your supplier agrees that you are vulnerable.
Advice & Support
Our Energy Adviser is able to provide energy efficiency information, advocacy and support to help low income adults and young people and vulnerable service users living in Salford to reduce their utility bills and improve energy efficiency in their homes.
They may be able to assist you on switching providers in order to maximise household incomes and may also able to exchange pre-pay gas and electric meters for credit meters, potentially saving clients hundreds of pounds per year.
Funded by Salford City Council, our Energy Adviser is able to give one-to-one tailored energy efficiency advice, information, referral to energy efficiency grants and signposting to other relevant services.
Salford Foundation is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.
